Daniel Townsend

Daniel J. Townsend was born on a tiny island at the bottom of the world, veins coursing with a
cocktail of English convict and Aboriginal blood. Poet, folk musician and dilettante historian,
Townsend has been singing stories ever since.

Formerly of Tasmania's favourite folk-popsters Invisible Boy (“one of the best bands of their kind”
- Drumbeat) Townsend's new album has been two thousand years in the making.

Named Iscariot, the record is his collection of stories circling the life of Judas, the infamous twelfth
apostle, replete with stolen ancient melodies and bastardised folk song lyrics. Townsend also claims
to have written some of the stuff himself...
