Kids Bush Art Activities

Children will have the opportunity to create with bush treasures. We will be using natural materials such as sticks, seeds, stringy bark, dogwood, wood offcuts, flowers, clay, string and stones. Experiences on offer will include weaving, creating talking sticks, fairy homes, timber sculptures, dream catchers and anything else a child dreams up. Children can take their creations home. No glue or plastics will be used.

Anna Demarco is a teacher in Southern Tasmania who spends a lot of time with her classes out in their school’s bushland. Over the years she has been fascinated with children’s interactions with the natural world whilst creating master pieces.

“I have a deep passion for creating Bush Art with children. They often become deeply immersed in a journey of creativity and storytelling as they find inspiration from the natural world. I will be running workshops for children on Saturday and Sunday. Children will have the opportunity to create with bush treasure. Experiences on offer will include weaving, creating talking sticks, fairy homes, timber sculptures, dream catchers and anything else a child dreams up.”
